2nd Nene (St. Peter's) Air Scout Group

This years Zatego was a little later in the year than normal.

The Zatego Theme this year was Happy 25^th Birthday to Nene Park Trust.

19 groups of Scouts from 6 Scout Groups took part and encountered 9 bases on their expedition.

Their tasks ranged from replacing the missing members of the small samba band which have been “lost” in Zatego, to dressing up with grass skirts and negotiating the limbo obstacle course.

Not forgetting the awarding of their Zatego badge at the end.

Well done to all the teams from base 2.

It was a delight having such well mannered Scouts – they were a credit to your groups.

They might  be wondering who won the ‘beat the Stig’ orienteering challenge, so I have included . the final results below.

Well done to team Mike from 14th Nene who had the lowest (ie best) score of 13.30, and hopefully. you enjoyed your chocolate egg prizes.
There were 7 clear rounds, the fastest being from Golf of 4.45 mins, then Mike with 5.30 mins,. Charlie with 5.55 mins, Hotel with 6.18 mins and Sierra in the pitch dark with 7 mins exactly.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU.

Without the Leaders, Helpers and Scout parents on the bases Zatego would not be able to go ahead and  I think this years Zatego was very successful.

Alan Sadler (Nene District Commission) was impressed with the way the bases were run and also with the tracking system so thank you.

I will be emailing those involved in running Zatego to collect feedback and seeking feedback from the young people who took part to help with next years event. 

If I missed anyone while handing out the Zatego badges please let me know and I will get one to you.

The results of “The Phil Hankins Zatego Award” will be collated and announced in the next couple of days.

Once again thank you for all your help and support to make this event possible.
